It's a funny trend
that started in the late 90s... "making a fighting game character evil by
darkening their skin and giving them new powers!" This cliché really
started to get old after playing fighting games for so many decades. Another
thing that got old? Really really annoying and impossible-to-beat fighting game
bosses (at certain difficulty levels). In arcades, you didn't have a choice btw.
At first glance, Demon Gaoh ain't bad... especially after seeing his official
art. However, in the game, his 2D sprite is ugly and doesn't animate well. Ohh, and he's possibly the most overpowered, cheapest, piece-of-crap
SNK final boss of all time. Even on the easiest setting (yes, I tried), Demon Gaoh
too cheap of a boss to offer a "fun" fight. This shit is broken. lol.
Even better, his ugly-ass super move with the "ghost ship" doesn't even have frames of
animation... and takes off
80% of your life. I normally don't complain about cheap bosses (I love Gill for
example), but this alternate character boss is just inexcusable. The only reason SNK would make such a
cheap boss would be to get back at players for pirating their games back in the
day. It's the only logical explanation. The SamSho series deserved better during
the SSV-SS6 era.
