Geras is the loyal and powerful servant of the Keeper of Time and Architect of the Universe's destiny,
Kronika. He wields power to manipulate sands of time.
He has died thousands of times over, each time coming back stronger and wiser. Due to his immortal lifespan and apparent immortality, he has witnessed various key events throughout time, such as the Ice Age and the Great
Kung Lao's defeat at the hands of
Goro.
Geras possesses the ability to manipulate time and the sands. His control over time includes being able to stop the flow of time, teleport, rewind time and replay his previous actions. By stopping the flow of time, Geras can freely interact wih his opponents who are oblivious to his next move and completely unaware of it.

Taller than most Mortal Kombat characters... Geras is a heavy-hitter with OP time powers. His powers are pretty ridiculous and superhero-esk, but seem appropriate for MK, somehow. Visually he's a cool, simple, and safe design... not much to complain about. In that way, he's also
slightly boring. I do think his weird / glitchy face and chest markings are kinda cool.
Overall, Geras looks like a mix of several old school MK designs, complete with the trademark Mortal Kombat loincloth... because no Mortal Kombat character is complete without a proper loincloth. This time, it seems like the designers didn't know when to stop drawing his loincloth. I feel like I've seen this design before in some
background of a prior MK game. (All he needs is a ninja hood and he'd look like a typical MK ninja.) That's a Mortal Kombat design for ya. But hey, for a MK newcomer... he's not half bad. Some of his animations are janky, as expected for an MK game, but he's got some innovative special moves that haven't been done before.
