Dragon
Ball FighterZ is Getting Rollback Netcode
|
|
Following
the conclusion of the EVO 2022 Dragon
Ball FighterZ finals, the game's producer, Tomoko Hiroki,
took the stage to make some special announcements. Through a translator,
Hiroki said that after much demand from fans, the development team has
decided to update Dragon Ball FighterZ with Rollback Netcode!
While that's really great news for DBFZ players looking to have a
smoother online experience in the coming months and years, Hiroki ended on
a bittersweet note, confirming that development on DBFZ has
officially ended. Below is a Twitter video courtesy of @HiFight showing
the moment Hiroki announced the rollback update.
"With the
latest update, which just released a few weeks ago, we believe that Dragon
Ball FighterZ has been tuned to to its finest," stated Hiroki.
"We do not have any future plans for new characters or additional
balance adjustments."
According to Hiroki, the Rollback Netcode enhancement
will be coming only to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam (and not
Nintendo Switch). "For players who already have the PlayStation 4 and
Xbox One versions, we do plan to provide you with upgrade paths, through
an upgrade program," said Hiroki.
In related EVO '22 news from Friday, SNK also announced a rollback
netcode update planned for Samurai Shodown (2019) next year.

The Dragon
Ball FighterZ producer did not specify exactly when fans can expect
the Rollback Netcode enhancement to drop, but we'll keep you updated. Stay
