Shares The Last Blade 25th Anniversary Art
|

social media, SNK shared a new celebratory illustration created by TONKO
to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the influential samurai-themed 2D
fighting game series, The Last Blade. As one of the most
visually impressive and polished 2D fighters to come out on SNK's NeoGeo
hardware back in the late 90s, The
Last Blade and The
Last Blade 2 are no doubt cult classics and highly regarded as two
of SNK's best through-and-through 2D fighters. The new 25th anniversary by
TONKO, released on December 5th (marking the day the first Last
Blade title hit arcades), features The Last Blade 2's Kaede,
Moriya Minakata, Yuki,
and Kouryu.

Aki Senno,
known in the fighting game world by her pen name TONKO, began
working for SNK in 1997. TONKO is perhaps best known for her Garou:
Mark of the Wolves and The Last Blade series character
designs and key illustrations.
She also worked on several NEOGEO Pocket Color titles, including a
portable spin-off of The Last Blade 2, The
Last Blade: Beyond The Destiny.
