BIO:

Galen Marek, codenamed "Starkiller" (also known as the "The Apprentice") is a disciple of Darth Vader, who saw Starkiller's potential as a Force-user and trained him personally. Starkiller's Soul Calibur IV storyline is as follows: As a covert operative, the Apprentice undertook many missions, but one mission stood out from the rest. He was instructed to investigate an anomaly - a gate to another dimension - and without hesitation, he entered the Soul Calibur universe.

In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Galen Marek is a
n extremely powerful force-wielder who lived during the era of the Galactic Empire, Marek originated from the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk as the sole offspring of two Jedi Knights - Mallie and Kento Marek - who deserted the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. Following the death of his mother, the young Marek's father was killed in battle by Darth Vader. Though only a child, Marek possessed an exceptionally strong connection to the Force that the Dark Lord of the Sith sought to exploit.

Thus, Darth Vader abducted Marek in order to train the orphan in the ways of the Sith Order. Although the Sith were limited to only two members at any given time, Vader nonetheless trained Marek as a secret apprentice during his own apprenticeship to Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord who ruled the galaxy as Emperor Palpatine. The physical and psychological trauma of Vader's unforgiving training regimen resulted in Marek's immersion within the dark side of the Force as his Master intended. With his childhood memories suppressed and his original identity forgotten, Marek only knew himself as the Dark Lord's apprentice; a Sith assassin who operated under the codename "Starkiller" and a living weapon to be deployed against the enemies of Darth Vader.

Apprentice's light-saber-based fighting style definitely has its cool moments... but to me, its "cheap" moments outweighed the dude's coolness-factor by just a bit. You know what I mean if you were an SC4 player. Hardcore Soul Calibur 4 players would be quick to tell you that this guy is overpowered in the game due to his pokes, projectile moves, air combos and quickness... but he's not exactly "god-tier" at least ... he can be stopped. ;) Still. Cheeeeeap.

Apprentice's design isn't super-exciting in my opinion... he looks like one of those kids who only play Call of Duty (only Call of Duty - and nothing else). His boring buzzcut, raggedy outfit and dry personality leave much to be desired for a character even for Star Wars nerds. Still though, gotta say some of his costumes in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (like his Sith attire and Stalker armor) are much better-looking than his original threads... too bad those don't appear in SC4. :( In all honesty, I enjoyed kicking Apprentice's ass most of all - due to him being such an OP character (and especially because of the silly way he screams when he loses). Hahaha. In retrospect, he was a pretty cool character. lol.
